For those who enjoy cultural activities there are museums, archeological sites, theatres, concerts including classical and contemporary, The internationally renowned Umbria Jazz is a must and the summer’s annual Trasimeno Blues are just two of the musical celebrations on offer.

The town of Arezzo boasts the largest antiques fair in Italy on the 1st weekend of the month; the town also has many fine antique shops open throughout the year, as well as a variety of museums.
One can easily reach the wine districts of Orvieto and Montefalco in Umbria and Montepulciano and Montalcino in neighbouring Tuscany.

During Easter one can watch the splendid and moving procession of the cross through the village of Moiano.

In Citte della Pieve the Easter festivies are;

Easter Monday : Wine spouting fountain and the festival of Easter
In front of the fortes there are two fountains belonging to the town-waterworks that only in this day spout wine offered by the producers of Città della Pieve

June 19 –21: Fiesta di S. Luigi protector of Terziere Casalino

August 10-15: Palio dei Terzieri
The three "Terzieri" (three medieval district of the town) Borgo Dentro, Casalino and Castello challenge each other in a bow-competition. This event draws inspiration from the old rivalities that characterized the ancient history of the town

Local Shopping

For local food shopping use the small supermarket in our village: Moiano.
You will find the store up passed the church on the right hand side of the road.

The nearest LARGE supermarket is in Po’Bandino, the SMA supermarket, it is on the right hand side of the road as you head toward Chiusi from Moiano.

Most opening times for all stores are 8:30am to 1pm and then again 4pm to 8pm, the evenings times may vary, so do try to shop in the mornings.

There is a Chemist ( Farmacia) in the village of Mioano, also we have a bakery, a post office, a tabacchi and many more interesting shops dotted around, so do take a stroll around and enjoy our village.
Just a 10 minute walk from the cottage you find Ristorante Il Pozzetto Via Stradone Moiano, 178 tel. 0578 - 294.598, in our local village "Moiano" which boasts a fabulous restaurant, the food and hospitality is exceptional here.
